Elizabeth Hardy is a Principal Planner and Demographer for Arlington County Government. She joined the Department of Community Planning, Housing and Development in 2008 and is responsible for producing key demographic and development statistics for Arlington, including annual population and employment estimates and forecasts. Elizabeth created and updates Arlington’s Race and Ethnicity Dashboard. She coordinated Arlington’s participation in the 2010 and 2020 Censuses. Elizabeth established the Northern Virginia Demographers Network and participates on the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments Cooperative Forecasting Subcommittee. Prior to joining Arlington, she was a Project Manger at the Northern Virginia Transportation Commission, where she worked on regional transit statistics and projects. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor’s in Geography from George Mason University and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
