Arlova J. Vonhm, AICP is the Zoning Administrator and Zoning Division Chief for Arlington County, VA. Arlova’s professional planning career spans over 20 years, including work in private practice and the public sector, and at the local and regional level. As Zoning Administrator, Arlova leads a 40-member team responsible for interpreting, enforcing, and administering the Zoning Ordinance. Arlova derives genuine pleasure from public service and seeks to utilize her training and talents to help create and sustain healthy and equitable communities.
Mrs. Vonhm received an undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and a Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan. Arlova served as a board member of the National Capital Area Chapter of the American Planning Association for six years and currently serves as the Secretary and Region 2 Commissioner on the American Institute of Certified Planners Commission. Arlova is a Chicago native and currently resides in Northeast Washington, DC with her husband Mainlehwon and their sons Jackson and Jeremiah.
