Sue Schwartz, FAICP is the Planning Director for Greensboro, NC. 2023 marks her 40th year as a city planner. She has work in Greensboro for 35 years, 12 as the planning director. Sue has been active in APA at the state and national levels serving as an AICP Commissioner and the AICP President 2005-07. Schwartz has been recognized for her planning leadership and her creative and collaborative approaches to planning projects. Most recently, GSO 2040, Greensboro's comprehensive plan was awarded the 2022 Daniel Burnham Award for a Comprehensive Plan by APA.
