Peter Barnard is the Planner Supervisor for the Policy and Analysis Team at the Philadelphia City Planning Commission. He helps lead a team of planners working on a wide array of policy and planning issues, and serves as a community planner for an area of the city with nearly 150,000 people. Prior to his current role, he spent three years serving the City as the Community Health Planner, working with both the Department of Planning and Development as well as the Department of Public Health to address chronic health issues through planning.
Previous to joining the CIty, Peter worked for the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission, Scenic Hudson and the Clean Air Council, covering a range of planning issues and projects, including: FutureLV: The Regional Comprehensive Plan; the John Burroughs Black Creek Trail.
Peter graduated from Bennington College with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Architecture and Social/Pollical Science in 2009. He graduated from University of Pennsylvania School of Design with a Masters in City Planning in 2013 with a concentration in Urban Design. He has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) since 2015 and the American Planning Association since 2009.
