President,
Schuylkill River Heritage Center
Valley Forge, Pennsylvania
I was born and raised in Philadelphia and received Master’s degrees in International Relations and Interior Design from universities located there. I have lived in Valley Forge for many years with my husband and raised our family here. I have written and given many walking tours in both Philadelphia and Phoenixville. When I discovered the Foundry Building, I led the campaign to save this historic building in Phoenixville that would become an important part of the community’s renaissance. I am President of the Schuylkill River Heritage Center. Our museum is located in the Foundry and we tell the story of the historic legacies of both Phoenixville and the Schuylkill River.
I was the Executive Director of Phoenixville Area Chamber of Commerce for twelve years. We worked to attract new business investment in the historic downtown by installing a large mural in the center of the downtown. The mural is an aesthetic attraction that tells the town’s historic story. Our goal was to package history for economic development and to create a unique sense of place where people would choose to live and visit.
