Christopher R. Dougherty is a researcher, urban planner, and project manager with deep experience in government and non-profit sectors planning, designing, and executing high-quality investments in Philadelphia’s public realm. Formerly employed as a planner with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and the Fairmount Park Conservancy, Chris has managed infrastructure investments in community parks in historic Hunting Park, Strawberry Mansion, and West Fairmount Park in addition to building trail projects along both the city’s rivers. Currently, he serves as a senior planner and project manager with the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation where he manages design and implementation of open space and trail projects along Philadelphia’s central waterfront. Working in a city segmented by environmental and infrastructural legacies, Chris is passionate about investments in the built environment that enhance human mobility and foster connections between humans and the earth.
Chris has an MA in American history from the University of Scranton and an MS in City & Regional Planning from Temple University’s Tyler School of Art and Architecture.
