Barry Jeffries, ASLA is a senior design planner and landscape architect at the Montgomery County Planning Commission (MCPC), Norristown PA. Barry's work focuses on site planning and landscape design for a variety of environments including community parks, public spaces, and natural areas. His project work includes initiatives to promote and implement best practices in the development of 'green and sustainable' surface parking lots and in urban forestry projects. He is inspired by the Schuylkill River's natural, cultural and industrial heritage and seeks to connect Montgomery County residents with all the opportunities the river offers. Barry has an AB in Economics from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the School of Environmental Design at The University of Georgia. He serves on the Lower Merion Township Shade Tree Commission and is garden docent at the Morris Arboretum of the University of Pennsylvania.
