Steven L. Nelson, AICP, is Director of Planning for Eastwick Solutions.Steve is a well-seasoned planner with significant planning and community engagement experience, areas of expertise include community and nature-based revitalization, public engagement, and resiliency planning. Having worked for a suburban Philadelphia county for over 25 years in increasingly responsible positions in planning and policy, culminating as Deputy Chief Operating Officer, he has spent the last ten years as a planning consultant.
Over his career, Steve has worked with communities of all sizes, collaborating with elected and appointed officials, residents, business organizations, non-profits, and other stakeholders. He has written action plans, revitalization plans, and comprehensive plans, developed and facilitated workshops and webinars on revitalization, community planning, and trail planning, developed innovative toolkits for communities and businesses, provided technical assistance on resiliency planning to several New Jersey coastal communities post-Superstorm Sandy.
Steve has managed multi-million dollar community revitalization and open space preservation programs, and also piloted a ground-breaking nature-based revitalization program in Pennsylvania for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
