Justin DiBerardinis is a lifelong Philadelphian and lover of his city's parks, rec centers, sidewalks, and all forms of public space. Justin started his career in grass roots community organizing in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, and the principles of capacity building and community leadership have guided his work every since.
He worked as the legislative director for City Councilwoman Maria Quinones Sanchez from 2007 to 2013 before finding his true calling in parks management. He served as Director of Programs and Partnerships at Bartram's Garden in Southwest Philadelphia from 2013 to 2019; and oversaw the development of a new public program focused on fostering racial, cultural and economic diversity in the Garden's nature programming.
In 2020 he joined Philadelphia Parks and Recreation as the Director of FDR Park, and has led the parks community building work, supporting FDR's many immigrant communities, the legalization of it's vibrant street food markets, building one of the largest volunteer and stewardship organizations in the Fairmount Park system, and leading a multi-tiered maintenance operation that protects the parks natural lands while meeting the recreational needs of South Philadelphians, and hosting some of the regions largest events, such as the Philadelphia Internation Flower Show.
