Development Services Manager City of Edgerton, Kansas
Now more than ever, it’s necessary for a planning supervisor to be prepared to handle difficult issues and understand how to keep staff motivated and engaged. Without collaborative training, supervisors may have little to draw from when they encounter challenges. This presentation focuses on three items supervisors regularly face: team building, promoting diversity and inclusion, and working through controversial issues. Facilitators allow participants to share concerns and receive feedback. Through facilitated discussion and real-life scenarios, participants can think through issues, receive fresh input, and develop easily implementable strategies. Just like "Shark Tank,” it's often important and helpful for planners to share ideas with colleagues, coworkers, and peers to receive feedback.
NPC Peer Reviewers assigned this presentation a learning level of Advanced. For more on learning-level descriptions, visit our General Information Page.
