This course is meant to cover the “cutting edge” topics in a wide variety of fields in Child Neurology. Presenters will focus on the aspects that are new in each of their fields of expertise. The purpose is for attendants to get up to speed about areas of Pediatric Neurology that are not necessarily those that they practice on a day-to-day basis.

Learning Objectives:

Discuss the current knowledge and practices in epilepsy, migraine, demyelinating disorders, and mitochondrial disease
List the risks and benefits of the new and upcoming therapies in epilepsy
Understand the various therapeutics currently in use in childhood migraine and childhood onset multiple sclerosis
Provide clinical symptoms that would indicate a need to investigate the possibility of a mitochondrial disorder and how best to treat these conditions
