This new, hands on course will introduce trainees and faculty to the devices, skills, and techniques used in neurointerventional treatment of ischemic and hemorhagic stroke and provide an introduction to neurosonology. There will be multiple stations where neurointerventional experts will impart their pearls and guide attendees through essential skills, using flow models. Additionally, there will be a live demonstration of neurosonology techniques, including TCD and carotid ultrasound.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe neurointerventional access sites and potential complications
Upon completion, the participant will be able to delineate the common tools and techniques used in neurointervention for acute stroke
Upon completion, the participant will have had a chance to handle some of the equipment used in neurointervention during mechanical thrombectomy and other procedures
Upon completion, the participant will be able to describe common uses and benefits of different neurosonology techniques in stroke practice.
Upon completion, the participant will be able to identify ultrasound images of common carotid artery pathologies.
Upon completion, participants will be familiarized with a number of TCD techniques, including acoustic windows, typical depths, and arterial velocities.
