Dr. John A Taylor, III is a the John W Weigel Endowed Professor of Urology & Cancer Biology, Deputy Director of the Insitute for Advancing Medical Innovation, Director of Basic and Translational research and co-leader of the Experimental Therapeutics program at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He obtained his M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons where he also completed his surgical and urological training. He served on active duty at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Surgery at the USHUS after which he took a position at the University of Connecticut Health Center during which time he obtained a Master’s degree in clinical and translational research. He maintains an active lab which pursues novel drug discovery/therapeutics for bladder cancer and has had continual extramural funding inclusive of grants and philanthropic donations since 2005. His work has been recognized by multiple peer-reviewed publications and several US provisional/full patents. Dr. Taylor is the founder, director, and president of the Leo and Anne Albert Institute for Bladder Cancer Care and Research.
