(Off-Site Edutainment with 1 hour of CE) Tour Meets for Walk-Over @ 3:00 PM Course at GWCC 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM This special SECO edutainment program at the historic MLK Center is designed to provide the attendee with a thorough review of the pathophysiology of the most common corneal dystrophies. We will discuss the signs and symptoms along with the expected prognosis and visual outcome for each condition. Current treatment options including pharmaceuticals, contact lenses, and surgeries will be presented.
Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
Differentiate between a corneal dystrophy and corneal degeneration
Be introduced to all corneal dystrophies affecting each layer of the cornea
Understand the signs, symptoms and prognosis for each corneal dystrophy
Appreciate all the different treatment options for corneal dystrophies including pharmaceuticals, contact lenses and surgery
Feel confident diagnosing and managing the most common corneal dystrophies
