As in any medical examination, the examination of a patient with an eye problem should begin with a careful interview pertinent to the reason for the patient’s visit. The patient interview, or history, is often the most important part of the exam and is the start of the clinical thinking and decision-making process. This course will cover the different components of patient history, and tips for patient communication and triaging common ocular emergencies.
