This course will cover an overview of tear stimulation as a treatment for dry eye disease, the prevalence of dry eye in postmenopausal women, and the pathophysiology of dry eye disease as a comorbidity to autoimmune disorders. This will be a comprehensive overview of varying causes of dry eye disease, and strategies for treating dry eye of different etiologies.

Identify patient populations that have a high likelihood of developing dry eye disease
Review novel mechanisms of action, efficacy, and safety data for recently approved therapies for dry eye disease
Assess the pathophysiology of dry eye disease in special populations that may benefit from novel treatment strategies
