This course will focus on pitfalls that could permanently affect a patient’s vision, experience, and happiness after LASIK and PRK surgery. Doctors should anticipate potential dangers and predictable complications that can arise during all phases of refractive surgery.
Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
Recognize predictable pitfalls during preoperative examination which would immediately be a contraindication to a patient having corneal refractive surgery
Discuss post-surgery expectations to patients which if not reviewed could lead to great visual outcomes but unhappy patients
Identify and manage unanticipated complications that arise after refractive surgery
