This course will help increase your understanding of how ophthalmic lenses control the amount of light transmitted. Tinted lenses allow specific light rays to pass through the lens and other light rays to be absorbed. Ophthalmic lens treatments like antireflective coatings and photochromics also selectively absorb light rays. Understanding light absorption is key to recommending lens tints and treatments to your patient/customer.
Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
Recognize harmful light rays in the electromagnetic spectrum
Understand how selective absorption lenses work
Present tinted lenses to the patient/customer with confidence
