Dr. Glen Steele is a retired professor at the Southern College of Optometry Pediatric Service placing emphasis on the vision care needs of the infant and young child during the process of development. A past president of both the College of Optometrists in Vision Development and the Optometric Extension Program Foundation, he is also past chair and current member of the American Optometric Association InfantSEEĀ® and Childrenās Vision Committee. He has lectured extensively throughout the USA and internationally in the area of infant vision development and care. He has received numerous awards for his work in the area of infant and child development. In 2021, he was inducted into the Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association Hall of Fame. In 2022, he received the COVD Distinguished Service Award for service to the profession, the James Boucher Award from National Academies of Practice- Optometry. He was inducted into the National Optometry Hall of Fame in 2019 and received the W David Sullins InfantSEE Award in 2022..
