Optometrists encounter many different presentations of optic nerve head anomalies, and we are called upon to determine true pathologic versus physiologic conditions. This course will highlight key clinical findings of 5 different optic nerve disorders you may encounter.
Learning Objectives:
Upon conclusion of this activity, attendees will be able to:
Recognize uncommon optic nerve presentations of disease that OD’s may encounter
Demonstrate appropriate understanding of foundational anatomic relationships to help navigate difficult optic nerve cases
Interpret additional diagnostic imaging (ie. OCT) and other clinical findings (ie. visual field defects) helpful in the diagnosis of optic nerve disease
Identify proper treatment rationale depending on underlying cause of optic nerve disease
