Measuring how their KM program compares to others as well as the maturity of existing KM capabilities can provide KM leaders with data and insights to help them see what they’re doing well, prioritize potential improvements, and identify role models to emulate. However, many people aren’t certain what (or how) to benchmark – or if it’s even worth the effort. Will the results really help them enhance their KM strategies and operations?
To help participants understand the power of benchmarking and maturity assessment and start comparing their programs to those of peers, Darcy Lemons will share some metrics from APQC’s latest KM Program and Benchmarks survey and KM Capability Assessment. She will highlight some characteristics that, according to analysis, increase a KM program’s likelihood of success.
Learning Objectives:
Tips on how to benchmark their KM program;
Characteristics of successful KM programs; and
Why benchmarking and capability assessment matter.
