Pulse width modulation active-clamp (PAC)-Ćuk dc/dc converter is a Ćuk derived converter equipped with two clamping circuits. The clamp circuits enable ZVS turn-on of all the switches resulting in high efficiency operation of the converter. In this article, a resonant form of PAC-Ćuk dc/dc converter is introduced. The resonant high-frequency (HF) link in PAC-Ćuk increases the output power transfer capability of the converter and impacts the ZVS region. A closed-form LC resonant modelling technique is introduced to develop the analysis for the resonant PAC-Ćuk dc/dc converter. The developed LC resonant modelling technique delivers an exact solution for resonant LC link connected across two active voltage sources which is applicable to other resonant converters.
