This presentation will survey the various different GaN technologies on the market from the perspective of the gate drive characteristics and specific requirementsand differences. It will delve into the details of the different gate characteristics of each technology. The different gate driving circuit requirements for each will be reviewed, along with the consequences for the gate driver IC or circuit. Recommendations will be listed to help designers with choosing the appropriate gate driver for each technology.
