The brushless DC (BLDC) motor market is witnessing tremendous growth. The ability of BLDC motors to save energy and increase equipment efficiency is expected to drive the growth of the market at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.7% from 2021 to 2028. In this paper, a novel approach to the flux-observer method is proposed for sensorless control of a single-phase BLDC motor, providing a new method for generating an artificial hall sensor signal to commutate the motor without using the arctan2 special trigonometric function and phase-locked loop (PLL) proposed in existing treaties.
