Dr. Sami Pettersson, working as Principal Scientist at ABB Corporate Research in Switzerland, received the M.Sc. and D.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from Tampere University of Technology, Finland, in 2004 and 2009, respectively. In his dissertation, he was investigating shunt four-wire active power filter topologies and their control. Since 2008, he has been with ABB Corporate Research as member of the Power Electronic Converters group. Over the years, he has worked in many technology development projects as technical specialist as well as project manager in the field of power conversion technologies for various applications, such as motor drives, solar inverters, datacenters, electric vehicle charging, and active power filters. He has also done two job rotations, the first at ABB Drives in Helsinki, Finland, between 2016 and 2018, and the second at ABB Traction in Turgi, Switzerland, in 2019. His research interests include optimized design and control of power electronic converters.
