Christopher (Chris) Whaling is Co-Founder of Synthesis Partners, LLC, founded in 1999, and operating as a continuously successful business and technology intelligence consultancy based out of Reston, VA, USA. Mr. Whaling has 35 years executive analyst experience, including 23-years as co-founder of a boutique market and technology intelligence firm which specializes in custom analytic endeavors, including technology and process gap intelligence, global supply chain research and designing NLP software implementations for highly customized big data projects. Mr. Whaling has decades proven expertise in technology gap assessments, economic analyses and global e-mobility technology supply chain research, including of most interest to APEC 2023, for the US Department of Energy (DoE)’s Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO). Mr. Whaling has led teams in the production of actionable global supply chain intelligence regarding power electronics, traction drive motors, lithium batteries, rare earth materials and autonomous vehicles, among other topics. Mr. Whaling has lived on five continents, has won and executed 100s of business intelligence contracts for private sector and government clients, and is a volunteer leader within PSMA, where he attends Board Meetings and is serving as Co-Chair of the Marketing and Industry Education Committees.
