Siamak Derakhshan was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1994. He received his M.Sc. degree in control engineering at Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2020. He is now a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at York University, Toronto, Canada.
From 2017 to 2020, he was a Research Associate with the Chaotic and Complex Systems Laboratory, School of Engineering, Iran University of Science and Technology, Tehran, Iran. Since 2021, he has been a Research Assistant with Power Electronics Laboratory for Sustainable Energy Research (PELSER), York University, Toronto, ON, Canada where he is working on the design and control of bidirectional AC/DC converters.
His current research interests include design, control and optimization of power electronic-based systems, convex optimization, and robust control, with applications to renewable energy systems, microgrids, and EV systems.
