Dr. Hang Gao received the B.Sc and M.A.Sc degrees in electrical engineering from Hefei University of Technology, Anhui, China, in 2011 and 2014, respectively, and Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering at Ryerson University (Toronto Metropolitan University), Toronto, ON, Canada in 2018. From 2018 to 2020, he worked as a postal-doctoral researcher and sessional lecturer at Ryerson University. From 2021, Dr. Hang Gao joined Washington State University, Vancouver, WA, USA as an assistant professor. His research interests include high power converter, electric motor drives, sustainable energy, electric vehicles, energy storage, microgrid, and predictive control.
Dr. Gao received the CUE-Enwave Energy Corporation Student Assistantship Award in 2017. He also received Ontario Trillium Scholarship throughout his whole Ph.D. period. Dr. Gao is a member of IEEE.
