Andreas Giannakis was born in Edessa, Greece, in 1991. He received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Patra, Greece, in 2014, and the MSc. degree in Electric Power Engineering from the Democritus University of Thrace, Xanthi, Greece, in 2016.
He also received his Ph.D degree in 2022 from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway, from the Department of Electric Power Engineering. His main research interests include circuit breaker concepts for DC power grids, focusing mostly on solid-state and hybrid topologies.
