Pasan Gunawardena (Student Member, IEEE) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and M.Phil. degree in electronics and telecommunication engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, in 2015 and 2019, respectively. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in the field of energy systems with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, Canada.
His current research interests include dc–dc converter topologies, dc microgrid systems, and multi-port power converters. Mr. Gunawardena was the recipient of the second prize of the IEEE IAS Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conversion Systems Committee Conference Paper awards in 2021.
