Aathira Karuvaril Vijayan is currently doing her Ph.D. in the area of motor control in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McMaster University, Hamilton, ON, Canada. She did her B.Tech degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), India and M.Tech degree in industrial drives and control from Mahatma Gandhi University, India, in 2008 and 2011 respectively. Since 2021, she is working as a research scholar towards her Ph.D. degree at McMaster University. Her research interests mainly include motor control, transportation electrification and power converters.
