Tianchen "James" Li, Ph.D., is a research associate at the Center for Sustainable Electrical Energy Systems (SEES) of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Jiangsu University of Science and Technology in 2010, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in 2022.
He is a versatile engineer with more than ten years of teaching, academic research, and industrial engineering experience in the electromagnetic compatibility of radio-frequency applications, large complex systems, and power electronics-enabled systems. His current research interests include common-mode and radiated EMI modeling of wide-bandgap semiconductor-enabled voltage source converters, partial discharge in WBG semiconductors, and ecological SF6-free high-voltage circuit breakers.
