Gopal Mondal received his Ph.D. degree in power electronics from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, in 2008.,He joined as a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Research Group, University of Nottingham, Nottingham, U.K., where he worked on the Universal and Flexible Power Management (UNIFLEX) project, jointly funded by EU and AREVA T&D. After finishing the project, he joined the central research unit of Areva T&D in Stafford, U.K. In 2012, he joined Siemens corporate Technology (CT) Erlangen, Germany, and is currently working with Siemens Technolgy as Senior Key Expert in Power Electronics. His research interests include converter topologies, advanced pulsewidth modulation techniques, modeling and control, passive and active filtering etc.
