Yao Wang is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in electrical engineering at Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA, United States. His research interests include high-power capacitive power transfer, inductive electric vehicle charging, renewable energy, wide bandgap device application, and solid-state DC circuit breaker.
He has authored more than 40 publications including IEEE flagship journals and conference proceedings. In 2022 Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), he won the First Place Best Paper Award. In 2022 Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IECON), his paper won the Students & Young Professionals Video Competition Award. He is also the recipient of the Joseph and Shirley Carleone Endowed Fellowship from Drexel University in 2022
