Dorai Yelaverthi is a ‘Research Scientist’ at ABB Corporate Research Center, Raleigh, NC, USA. He received his Masters degree from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India, in 2013, and Ph.D. degree from Utah State University, Logan, Utah, in 2020, both specializing in the field of Power Electronics.
From 2014 to 2016, he worked on power converter topologies for utility applications as a Research Engineer at National University of Singapore (NUS), Singapore. Prior to joining NUS, he was an Engineer working on aircraft electrical systems at Aeronautical Development Agency, Bangalore, India.
Through his research, he proposed novel modulation techniques, power converter topologies and magnetic structures for AC-DC and DC-DC applications. He holds 2 grated US patents and 3 more US patents currently pending. His current research involves high-frequency magnetics design and modeling, and use of Wide-bandgap semiconductor devices in power converter designs.
