In the proposal of the following paper, an active ripple energy storage circuit with extended hold-up time capability for high power dense rectifiers is proposed, in order to address hold-up time relevant applications, such as industrial power rectifier. Bidirectional topologies with buck-boost capability are considered. Three different topologies are considered and address different voltage class MOSFETs. The selection of the right rms voltage of the storage capacitor is also proposed in order to minimize the capacitance value for a certain hold-up time requirement.
