This paper covers the missing gap of evaluating the ARCP topology for SiC-based high-current traction inverters. A waveform-based loss model is proposed to calculate addition conduction loss generated by auxiliary circuits in ARCP. It is discovered that the performance of ARCP highly relates to the device technology. A 200-kW 2-L traction inverter is designed, and its half-bridge unit is used to evaluate the scaled semiconductor model.
