In this paper, a series/parallel piezoelectric resonator (SPPR) converter is proposed to improve the performance of a PR-based converter when a higher step-down ratio is required. A SPPR prototype is built with lead zirconate titanate (PZT) PRs to verify the operation of the proposed topology, demonstrating a peak efficiency of 94.3% at a 48/10V conversion ratio at 2.5W, and up to a 27.5% efficiency improvement over a baseline PR converter.
