This paper proposes a solution for the recently released USB-PD 3.1 standard targeting a universal AC-DC adaptor with variable output voltage from 5 V to 48 V. The proposed solution, using emerging hybrid-flyback topology, GaN devices and active bridge input rectifier, achieves outstanding power density of 44 W/inch_cubic and a peak efficiency of 97.84%.
