A new bidirectional, isolated, quasi-single-stage topology referred to as 3-Level Asymmetric Dual Active Bridge Series Resonant Converter (3LADABSRC) is proposed. A unique modulation strategy is proposed which results in soft switching for most of the operating range. Decoupling control is used to achieve two control objectives of power factor correction (PFC) and output power control. Hardware results of an 18 kW module are presented with more than 96.5% efficiency for all operating points.
