This digest presents an improved thermal analysis method focusing on the long-term profiles of power modules. A concatenation dictionary composed of single square-wave pulse dictionary as the lower level and shift-invariant dictionary as the higher level is constructed. The input information of the higher level dictionary is the output information of the lower level dictionary to calculate the junction temperature fluctuation by linear superposition. The transient junction temperature of the power module is predicted with less computational effort under arbitrary loss profiles. The experimentally measured junction temperature is used to verify the accuracy of the proposed model.
