The auxiliary power supply with high voltage isolation and low common-mode capacitance is one of the critical components inside medium-voltage gate driver. Due to the low common-mode capacitance requirement, high leakage inductance issue becomes significant. The leakage inductance can be compensated by series capacitor in series-resonant converter. However, the winding resistance in transformer still leads to voltage-drop. The objective of this paper is to deduce the time domain modeling of series-resonant converter considering transformer winding resistor to analyze the trade-off between transformer winding resistance and voltage-drop.
