The existing wide-range battery chargers are not compatible to charge the traditional (400 V systems) and next generation (800 V systems) electric vehicles (EVs). As a result, distinct chargers are needed to charge all vehicles. This paper proposes a new bridgeless reconfigurable battery charger to charge existing and next-generation EVs from a universal AC input supply (85-264 V, 50/60 Hz). Two distinct dual-loop controllers are presented, eliminating the subharmonic oscillations and regulating the chargers\' output. The simulation and test results demonstrate that the proposed charger maintains the unity power factor with allowable harmonic distortion and can be utilized to charge traditional and next-generation EVs
