This digest manuscript proposes the design considerations of SiC MOSFET-based three-phase PWM rectifier for electric vehicle charging station. In a three-phase PWM rectifier, because of the fast switching speed and high current ratings with SiC MOSFET, the noise effects and temperature rise should be considered. Also, a controller with high reliability is required because the instability of the controller leads to deterioration of power factor and hardware damage. Therefore, the proposed design considerations are explained in the case of filter, controller, and hardware design. Moreover, through the experimental results, the importance of the proposed design consideration is emphasized. Consequently, experimental validation is performed by measuring the efficiency, power factor, and total harmonic distortion for various load conditions of the designed three-phase PWM rectifier.
