Avalanche transistor-based Marx bank circuit is widely used to generator nanosecond pulse with high amplitude, fast rise time, narrow pulse width, and low jitter. For plasma-jet-driven magneto-inertial fusion (PJMIF), it is still a new field. In this digest, a comprehensive study on the conduction state of fundamental topology is presented. Furthermore, an improved MBC with auxiliary triggering topology is proposed. The influences of the circuit parameters on the output characteristics are also investigated.
