This presentation will show how to test an existing power supply for loop stability and dynamic response, presenting two methods for each. For loop stability, one of the methods is non-invasive and does not require cutting any traces to break into the loop. For dynamic response, a simple circuit can be soldered across the output, and be driven by a signal generator. Additionally, a battery-operated complete self-contained dynamic load tester will be presented.
