Dr. Lena Fan is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Bone Diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Mount Sinai Hospital Beth Israel Campus. She received her undergraduate training at Columbia University and her medical training at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in New Jersey. Dr Fan completed her residency training in Internal Medicine with a special track in Women's Health at Brown University in 2019 and went on to complete a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Columbia University. She has conducted research in metabolic bone disease, examining the relationship between serum advanced glycosylated end projects and bone tissue properties in patients with Type 2 diabetes. Dr. Fan joined the faculty at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in 2021. Her clinical interests include metabolic bone disease, endocrinological disease during pregnancy, and diabetes technologies. She is one of the founding physicians of a multi-disciplinary metabolic bone disease clinic in partnership with the departments of Physiatry, Physical Therapy, and Geriatrics and Palliative Care. Dr. Fan also participates in a number of teaching settings, including as a lecturer and preceptor for the Mount Sinai Endocrinology fellowship.
