After completing Internal Medicine Residency and Endocrinology Fellowship at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Chaiban joined Saint Vincent Charity Medical Center where she served as the Medical Director for the Joslin Diabetes Affiliate and then as head of the Endocrinology Division and Chairperson of the IRB committee as well as the director of the medical weight loss management at the Bariatric Surgery Center. She later joined the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Lipid Research at Washington University as Associate Professor of Medicine before moving to Advocate Health Care in Illinois in August 2016. Dr. Chaiban graduated from Harbert College of Business at Auburn University in 2020 with a Master of Business Administration degree. She served as the Chair for the Midwestern Section of the American Federation of Medical Research from May 2019 till June 2020. She was also selected by the ABIM as a member of the Item- Writing Task Force for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism and assumed such responsibility from May 2019 to May 2021.
Dr. Chaiban is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago and the Director of Research for the Internal Medicine Residency Program as well as the Founding Program Director of the Endocrinology Fellowship at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Dr. Chaiban has been serving as a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) Board of Directors since May 2020 and has been active on several AACE committees. She has published widely in several peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at numerous national and international conferences.
