Melanie Bird, PhD, MSAM is the staff methodologist for AACE's clinical practice guideline program where she assists task forces in developing evidence-based recommendations using the GRADE methodology framework. She provides support for the development of AACE consensus statements and algorithms and works closely with the CPG Oversight Committee. She received a PhD in viral immunology from the University of Texas Medical Branch, completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, and received a Masters in Academic Medicine from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She has over 20 years of experience in research and scientific writing and nine years experience in developing clinical practice guidelines and recommendations.
