Jennifer N. Clements, PharmD, FCCP, FADCES, BCPS, CDCES, BCACP, BC-ADM, is a Clinical Professor and Director of Pharmacy Education at the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy and for the Greenville campus.
Dr. Clements earned her PharmD from Campbell University in 2006 and completed a primary care pharmacy practice residency in 2007 at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center (VAMC) in Charleston, South Carolina. She began her academic career in 2007, holding full-time faculty appointments with Shenandoah University before transitioning to the Presbyterian College School of Pharmacy, where she had served as Professor and Director of Postgraduate Education. During her academic tenure, she developed pharmacy practice sites in a VAMC and rural-health family medicine clinic with focus on chronic disease state management, specifically diabetes and obesity. For three years, Dr. Clements provided medication management for people with diabetes within an interprofessional practice model in the Department of Nursing Administration at Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System. She also oversaw inpatient diabetes management and transitions of care for the 1000+ bed healthcare system and chaired the system’s Diabetes Advisory Council. She has authored numerous publications and presentations related to diabetes and obesity pharmacotherapy.
Dr. Clements has been an active member of American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) since 2005. She has held several elected positions within Practice and Research Networks (PRN) of ACCP, including Chair of the Ambulatory Care and Endocrine/Metabolism PRN, and chaired numerous committees within these PRN. Dr. Clements has been a member of several ACCP Standing Committees including the Annual Planning, Awards, Member Relations, and Publications Committees. She was honored as a Fellow of ACCP in 2017 and was recently elected ACCP Secretary (2020-2023).
Dr. Clements is certified in multiple areas, such as pharmacotherapy, ambulatory care, diabetes care and education, and advanced diabetes management. She is an active member of Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists and was honored as a fellow of this organization in 2020. Dr. Clements is also active in American Association of Clinical Endocrinology, American Diabetes Association, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and South Carolina Society of Health System Pharmacists.
